Summary
We are seeking a FSCD One-to-One Support Worker to join our team in Canada. This vital role involves providing personalized support to children with special needs at our daycare in a warm and caring setting. Your contribution will help foster an inclusive environment aligned with our mission of nurturing every child's potential.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support to children with special needs, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to implement individualized plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Use effective communication skills, including American Sign Language if applicable, to facilitate understanding.
- Assist in organizing and supervising activities that promote physical activity, creativity, and discovery.
- Support children during classroom activities, fostering an inclusive and respectful environment.
- Monitor and document each child's progress and behavior for ongoing assessment.
- Maintain a positive relationship with children, parents, and team members to ensure a supportive atmosphere.
- Follow all safety protocols and policies of the daycare.
- Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in a daycare or educational setting.
- Strong communication skills, including proficiency in American Sign Language preferred.
- Knowledge of special education principles and working with individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to implement individualized support plans effectively.
- Compassionate attitude with patience and adaptability.
- Relevant certifications in early childhood education or related fields are a plus.
- Prior experience supporting children with diverse needs is highly desirable.
