Overview
We are seeking a Subprime Finance Manager to join our automotive dealership’s finance team. This role is ideal for a professional with experience in subprime or special finance who understands deal structure, lender guidelines, and customer-focused financing solutions. While experience is strongly preferred, we are open to highly motivated candidates with a strong aptitude for automotive finance.
Responsibilities
- Structure, submit, and manage subprime and special finance deals through a full network of banks and lenders
- Analyze credit applications and determine the most effective lender placement strategies
- Communicate with lenders to negotiate approvals, stipulations, and advance terms
- Work directly with customers to explain financing options, terms, and conditions clearly and professionally
- Collaborate with sales managers to maximize approvals, profitability, and deal efficiency
- Ensure all deals are accurately documented and compliant with dealership, lender, and regulatory guidelines
- Track lender performance and stay current on program changes and underwriting requirements
- Follow up on pending deals to resolve stipulations and secure funding in a timely manner
- Maintain organized deal files and assist in funding and post-sale processes as needed
- Contribute to continuous improvement of special finance processes and performance
Qualifications
- Previous experience in subprime, special finance, or automotive financestrongly preferred
- Solid understanding of lender programs and deal structure
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Professional demeanor and customer-first mindset
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
