Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Landscape Construction Labourer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of landscape and construction work, demonstrating proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment. This role involves assisting with landscape installation, site preparation, and related construction tasks to deliver high-quality outdoor environments for our clients. Candidates should possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to follow schematics and blueprints accurately.
Duties
- Assist in the installation of landscaping features including plants, trees, and turf
- Prepare sites by grading, excavating, and laying foundations using appropriate tools and equipment
- Operate heavy machinery such as skid steers or mini-excavators safely and efficiently
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to execute projects accurately
- Perform concrete forming, finishing, and masonry work as required for patios, walkways, or retaining walls
- Install or repair irrigation systems, drainage solutions, or plumbing components in outdoor settings
- Execute carpentry tasks such as cabinet installation or framing for landscape structures
- Apply finishing techniques including caulking, painting, or restoration work to ensure quality results
- Use hand tools (hammers, saws) and power tools (drills, saws) effectively for various tasks
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols at all times
Skills
- Proven experience with blueprint reading and schematics interpretation
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation
- Knowledge of concrete forming, finishing, masonry, and tile laying techniques
- Ability to perform construction estimating and understand project scope requirements
- Skilled in carpentry, electrical experience, plumbing, welding, flooring installation, and restoration work is a plus
- Familiarity with construction painting and caulking techniques
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and protocols
- Excellent physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and clients as needed
