Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and smooth seating process. This role is essential in creating a positive dining experience and maintaining excellent customer service standards. Prior experience in restaurant or hospitality environments is preferred, but a positive attitude and strong communication skills are most important. The position offers an opportunity to develop customer service skills in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservations efficiently
- Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and answering initial questions
- Manage waitlists and seating arrangements to optimize table turnover
- Handle phone inquiries with professionalism using proper phone etiquette
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station area
- Assist servers and kitchen staff as needed to ensure seamless service flow
- Use POS systems such as Micros POS to process reservations or takeout orders when required
- Provide exceptional guest services by addressing guest needs promptly and courteously
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure high-quality hospitality service
Skills
- Excellent guest services and customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Previous experience in serving, hospitality, or food service environments is a plus
- Strong communication skills, including clear speaking and attentive listening
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, including POS systems like Micros POS or similar platforms
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Professional phone etiquette for managing reservations and inquiries
- Hospitality experience, including hotel or restaurant background, is advantageous
- Ability to work well within a team and maintain a positive attitude under pressure
Pay: From $17.60 per hour
