US Tax Specialist

Minted Search Group is partnering with a well-established mid-sized public accounting firm that is looking to add a US Tax Specialist to its growing cross-border tax team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with Canada–U.S. tax matters and wants to build long-term client relationships while collaborating closely with experienced managers and partners. The firm offers exposure to a diverse client base of privately owned businesses, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals with cross-border tax needs.
What You'll Be Doing
- Prepare and review U.S. personal, corporate, and partnership income tax returns.
- Work directly with clients to gather information and ensure timely completion of tax engagements.
- Research and analyze a variety of U.S. and cross-border tax issues.
- Collaborate with Managers and Partners to develop practical tax solutions for clients.
- Coordinate with external professionals involved in cross-border planning and compliance.
- Assist with voluntary disclosure submissions and other cross-border compliance initiatives.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with clients while delivering exceptional service.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience preparing U.S. tax returns within a public accounting environment.
- Solid understanding of U.S. tax compliance and cross-border taxation.
- Canadian tax experience is considered an asset.
- Experience preparing estate tax returns is an asset.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
- A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail.
- A genuine interest in continuing to develop technical knowledge in U.S. and cross-border taxation.
