We thrive on building high-quality, custom equipment and we’re looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Burnaby, BC.
Responsibilities
- Under the guidance of senior staff, create and modify electrical design packages which may include, but are not limited to, one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, low-voltage distribution, control schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of material.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to plan and execute electrical engineering tasks to ensure project specifications and schedules are met.
- Self-tracking of milestones and assigned engineering tasks, proactively identifying risks to schedules and escalating when necessary.
- Perform detailed design reviews and self-checking of engineering tasks to maintain a high standard of quality.
- Assist senior engineers with complex or novel project challenges, growing into greater independence and responsibility.
- Perform detailed review of non-standard components for technical feasibility and adherence to customer specifications.
- Collaborate effectively with mechanical engineering team for cross-departmental requirements regarding conductor sizing, wire routing, backpan spacing, etc.…
- Participate in project meetings and communicate with stakeholders to clarify requirements.
- Provide technical support to the quality assurance team and shop floor from a technical perspective.
- Support the development and review of technical documentation, design guides, style guides, and standard practices.
Requirements
- Diploma, bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- A minimum of 3 years of proven direct detailed design experience in MV protection & control projects within Canada/United States.
- Familiarity with CEC and IEEE/ANSI medium voltage switchgear standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $87,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
