Job Description:
We are hiring a reliable and practical Residential Janitor / Cleaner for a boarding home setting that provides affordable housing to individuals with a range of support needs.
This is a hands-on cleaning role in a non-traditional environment. While this is not a clinical or healthcare facility, many residents live with ongoing mental health challenges. The work environment can at times be unpredictable and requires a calm, respectful, and professional approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean common areas, washrooms, kitchens, and resident units
- Handle deep cleaning tasks in soiled areas
- Safely clean and disinfect surfaces, including situations involving bodily fluids and strong odors
- Maintain cleanliness standards throughout the property
- Report maintenance or safety concerns as needed
About the Work Environment:
This role involves working in a shared residential/boarding home. Staff should be comfortable in environments where:
- Tenants may have mental health or behavioural challenges
- Units may require intensive or restorative cleaning
- Conditions are not always predictable
This role is a good fit if you:

Requirements:
- Previous cleaning, janitorial, or similar experience strongly preferred
- No formal education required
- Personable
- Ability to work independently
- Reliable and punctual
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 25 per week
