Reporting to the Director of Clinical Programs & Quality, the successful applicant will work as a member of the Clinical Leadership team providing leadership and working with the inter-disciplinary team to deliver high quality patient care with a focus on quality improvement, education, and health promotion. The successful candidate will manage and coordinate Laboratory and Medical Imaging services for in-patient and out-patients in alignment with the Vision, Mission, Values and Strategic Objectives of West Parry Sound Health Centre (WPSHC). Working collaboratively with the Director of Clinical Programs & Quality, other Clinical Managers and employees, the Manager will ensure alignment with program strategic priorities and achieve this in a fiscally responsible manner.
Specifically, the Clinical Manager will be accountable for:
- Management and coordination of Laboratory and Medical Imaging services.
- Performance management, mentoring, coaching, facilitating, and developing clinical learning opportunities for laboratory and medical imaging staff.
- Fostering an environment that enables communication, creative thinking and participation by modeling approachability, visibility and exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Establishing, developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Promotion of safe, effective, evidence-based and quality outcomes.
- Strategic, financial, scheduling and operational planning for laboratory and medical imaging services.
- Overseeing the monitor of key performance indicators and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Utilizing appropriate strategies such as development of policies, procedures and quality improvement activities to prevent and minimize risk.

To qualify for the role, you will have Registration in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario
You will also need to have:
- Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist in a supervisory role.
- Practices in and has knowledge of Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging quality management systems and accreditation requirements
- Previous experience in a health care leadership position.
- Completion of formal leadership or managerial training.
- Experience in building and leading an effective team.
- Skill in supervising staff including the ability to delegate responsibility, organize objectives, evaluate subordinate effectiveness, and performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, facilitate, and develop clinical learning opportunities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of related techniques, equipment, trends, and a willingness to learn and deploy new and emerging technologies.
- Commitment to continuing education and maintenance of professional standards.
- Demonstrated leadership and change management skills.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, communication, conflict resolution, problem solving and team building skills.
- Demonstrated proven ability to be accountable and foster accountability in others.
- Demonstrated participatory leadership style that includes approachability, visibility and accessibility.
- Demonstrated ability to assess, manage and plan for human resource needs utilizing recruitment and retention strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate, coach, mentor and lead individuals and/or groups to achieve quality outcomes.
- Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, work performance, disciplinary history, and positive work references.
