Under the direction of Technical Manager, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of embedded controller development, including firmware development, hardware design support, and system integration. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in embedded systems and a proven ability to deliver reliable, production-ready solutions. This is a hands-on role involving technical ownership, product development, and support of next-generation control platforms, including connected and IoT-enabled systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of embedded control systems, including firmware development and hardware integration.
- Support PCB design activities, including schematic capture, layout coordination, prototype testing, and release to production.
- Implement control algorithms to enhance system performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Build and test prototypes to verify and refine design performance.
- Support design activities across the development process, from detailed design through manufacturing release.
- Prepare and maintain design-related technical documentation (e.g., schematics, bills of materials, and test procedures) in collaboration with the team.
- Troubleshoot and debug hardware and software issues related to assigned designs and prototypes.
- Provide input on design practices and support compliance with applicable industry standards.
Skills, Education, and/or Experience
- Relevant post-secondary education in Electrical/Electronics/Controls Technical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong experience in embedded systems, firmware (C/C++), and electronic design.
- Knowledge of PCB design, system integration, and debugging tools.
- Experience across full product lifecycle and design for manufacturability.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards (CSA, UL, CE, etc.).
- IoT/connectivity experience considered an asset.
- High attention to detail and analytical skills required.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills required.
- Able to work in a team-oriented setting as well as independently.
- Technical skills required for computers and tablets.
Job Conditions
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and looking at a computer.
- Light physical requirements – able to lift up to 20lbs.
- Sitting, lifting, squatting, pushing, or reaching for intermittent or extended periods.
Work Environment:
- Factory, Warehouse, Distribution Center, Office.
- May be exposed to loud, repetitive sounds from machinery or equipment.
- May use chemicals or other in accordance with MSDS.
- May operate machinery in close proximity or with objects exposed to eyes or face.
