Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights. This role requires a strong background in accounting software and financial analysis, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The Controller will play a key role in budgeting, account reconciliation, and financial reporting to support the company's growth and stability.
The Controller will shadow the current fractional controller for 3-4 months, take over the function completely, and then modernize the finance and administrative backbone of Crocodile. This is an office-first, owner-operator role for a high-potential finance leader with strong upside.

· Takes full ownership of finance, reporting, cash visibility, and core controls.
· Improves efficiency using better processes, integrations, and emerging technology where useful.
· Owns adjacent business administration such as insurance, leases, and related company matters at the appropriate level.
· Builds trust with a young, ambitious team and grows with the business.
Required Skills/Experience:
- CPA Designation
- Proven ability to maintain and improve internal controls, cash management processes, and compliance workflows.
- Hands-on experience managing cash flow forecasting, treasury routines, and daily cash awareness.
- Experience owning annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and KPI dashboards with measurable business impact.
- Ability to translate financial data into clear insights and recommendations for leadership.
- Evidence of acting as a financial steward, treating company resources with the same care as personal finances.
- Demonstrated ability to shadow, document, and assume ownership of existing workflows without disrupting operations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Reputation for integrity, reliability, and sound judgment.
- Thrives in an ambitious, office-first team and contributes positively to culture.
Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
