Deck It Towing & Hauling Ltd. is looking for a full-time Heavy Duty Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Technician to join our growing team in Grande Prairie.
We are seeking either a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician or a registered Apprentice who is motivated to learn and grow within our company. Wage will be based on experience, apprenticeship level and mechanical ability.
Wage
$35.00–$55.00 per hour
Competitive wages based on experience and qualifications.
Hours of Work
- Monday to Friday
- 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Overtime is frequently available and often required based on operational demands.
- Occasional Saturday work is expected to support fleet maintenance and emergency repairs.

No two days are the same.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
- Repair heavy trucks, commercial vehicles and trailers.
- Perform brake, suspension, steering and drivetrain repairs.
- Diagnose and repair air brake systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Repair hydraulic systems and components.
- Service forklifts, generators, compressors and other support equipment.
- Perform inspections and identify repair requirements.
- Complete work orders accurately.
- Record labour and parts used.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe shop.
- Follow company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with emergency breakdowns and priority fleet repairs when required.
Qualifications
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification is an asset.
- Registered Heavy Equipment Technician Apprentices are encouraged to apply.
- Experience working on heavy trucks and trailers is preferred.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with hydraulic, electrical and air brake systems.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence required.
- Class 1 or Class 3 Licence is considered a strong asset.
