Job Overview
Well respected Woodbridge manufacturer requires a dedicated and experienced Production Lead to oversee daily manufacturing operation. This role is rotating Continental Shifts and the candidate must have manufacturing extrusion experience. This role requires strong leadership skills, mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with manufacturing processes and will play a vital role in maintaining smooth workflow and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage a group of 30+ employees
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Strictly Adhere to company health and safety procedures at all times
Supervises, hires and directs hourly personnel and manufacturing operations assigned to their shift
Reviews production orders and schedules to makes constant decisions based on product data such as types, quantities, specifications, schedules, logistics and plans operations accordingly
Assigns duties to all shift members and ensures that production schedule will be completed
Conducts safety checks
Provide technical leadership to shift personnel, to include: line setup/operation, metrics definition/reporting, testing, troubleshooting, and training facilitation
Ensure optimum utilization of manpower and equipment for minimum downtime.
Qualifications:
· Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) an asset
· Lean Manufacturing experience is required. Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification is an asset
· Minimum of 3-5 years of manufacturing experience; preferably in extrusion
-Experience with extrusion manufacturing.
· Knowledge and experience in material control, engineering, compounding, quality and maintenance
· Understanding manufacturing processes. Success in planning, executing and managing projects Excellent problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate upwardly to top management and downward to a wide range of audiences
· Strong communication skills. Self-directed and able to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
· Must be able to work a 12-hour rotating continental shift
- Yellow Belt Certification.
