The Vancouver Waldorf School (VWS) is seeking a certified teacher to fill the part-time assignment of gardening (total of 2 hours per week). Qualified candidates should have teaching experience, familiarity with gardening and composting, interest in working with chickens and bees, and a proven track record in project management. The teacher should be able to deliver the subjects in a creative and enlivened way, in keeping with the BC and Waldorf curriculum.
Duties include:
- planning and implementation of gardening and art installations;
- grounds beautification in collaboration with students, class teacher and parent volunteers.
Qualifications
- BC Teacher Certificate (must be able to meet BC Ministry of Education requirements)
- University Bachelor’s Degree
- An understanding of Waldorf Education & working knowledge of child development
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently but also as part of the larger connect of a team member
Terms of employment: temporary, part-time (0.16 FTE)
