Who We Are:
We are a Family Health Organization and Urgent Care Clinic located in the Durham Region and currently looking for a registered practical nurse to join our clinic for Evenings and weekend shifts.
Who We Are Looking For:
The Role:
- Experience working in a clinic setting and triaging patients for primary care physicians
- Experience working with pediatrics and adult patients.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing
- Experience using electronic medical record systems (Telus CHR will be our EMR)
- A reliable and flexible individual who is willing to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team environment
- Comprehensive health and chronic disease assessments of clients at all stages of life
- Supporting primary care patients
- Urgent and emergent care, patient education, health and wellness promotion.
Duties:
- Venipuncture and administration of IV medications and fluids is a required skill, applicants without prior training will not be considered.
- Responsible for triaging of patients, taking vital signs, measurements.
- Administer vaccines under the order and supervision of a physician.
- Responsible for maintenance of medical rooms and equipment.
- Responsible for cleaning and stocking examination rooms with necessary supplies.
- Adheres to vaccine fridge monitoring by the standards outlined by Durham Public Health.
- Ability to perform minor procedures such as suture removals, staple removals, cryo therapy, and splinting.
- Assisting the physician in casting, stitching, and other minor procedures.

Salary:
- $25.00 - $27.00 per hour ranging on experience
Language Requirement:
- Fluent in English
- Any second language is a plus
Required Certifications:
- CPR/BLS Certified from an accredited facility
- Immunizations up to date
Schedule:
- 6-12 Hour shifts
- Friday to Sunday
Experience:
- Entry Level. Experience in a Medical Clinic is Preferred
- RPN Registration and in Good Standing with the College of Nurse in Ontario (CNO)
