ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a driven and experienced General Manager to lead our Owen Sound Fuel Division. This is a key leadership role responsible for the overall performance and day-to-day operations of the division. The successful candidate will oversee margin reporting, collaborate closely with sales and dispatch teams, and provide direction to our drivers — ensuring exceptional service delivery and sustained profitability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations & Leadership
- Lead and manage all aspects of the Owen Sound Fuel Division's daily operations
- Provide clear direction, coaching, and performance management to drivers, dispatch, and support staff
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Ensure all operations comply with applicable regulations, company policies, and industry standards
Financial Management & Reporting
- Own and manage margin reporting for the division, analyzing results and identifying improvement opportunities
- Monitor key financial metrics, control costs, and drive profitability targets
- Prepare and present operational and financial reports to senior leadership
- Develop and manage divisional budgets
Sales & Customer Relations
- Work collaboratively with the sales team to support customer acquisition and retention strategies
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and accounts
- Identify new business opportunities and support growth initiatives within the division
Dispatch & Fleet Coordination
- Coordinate closely with dispatch to ensure efficient scheduling, routing, and on-time delivery
- Oversee driver performance, adherence to delivery standards, and vehicle compliance
- Resolve operational challenges and escalations in a timely and professional manner
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Required
- Proven experience in a management or leadership role (3+ years preferred)
- Strong financial acumen with experience in margin management, budgeting, and reporting
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant business management software
- Valid Ontario driver's licence
Preferred / Asset
- Experience in the fuel distribution, petroleum, or energy industry is a significant asset
- Familiarity with fuel dispatch systems, routing software, or fleet management tools
- Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements within the fuel/petroleum sector
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
Pay: $60,000.00 per year
