The Maintenance Technician – Electrician is an integral member of our operations team, responsible for helping to keep our facility running smoothly. You will apply your preventative maintenance and troubleshooting expertise to maintain and repair processing and production equipment.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to identify and resolve equipment issues and determine root causes when challenges arise.
You have a safety-first mindset, take pride in maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and enjoy hands-on troubleshooting. You value working closely with operators and colleagues on the production floor to understand equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications & Competencies
- Must hold a relevant trade license, ideally an Electrician 442A License (or equivalent), with a strong mechanical background
- Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong preventative maintenance and troubleshooting skills
- Experience working with automated production and packaging equipment
- Knowledge of PLC fault diagnostics, motor control, and motion control systems
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) or similar operational standards
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies is considered an asset
- Valid Operating Engineer certification is an asset
- Working knowledge of welding, machining, and plumbing
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work shifts and perform other duties as required
- Basic computer skills are an asset
- Physically capable of meeting the demands of the role
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain all mechanical and electrical systems and plant machinery
- Troubleshoot and maintain processing and production equipment, including tanks, valves, pumps, and automated systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot packaging and high-speed production equipment
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and external contractors to ensure work is completed safely and in compliance with all applicable regulations and standards (e.g., Health & Safety, GMP, WHMIS, SDS)
- Communicate daily maintenance activities with the Maintenance Supervisor and team; maintain accurate logs and records
- Improve and sustain preventative maintenance (PM) systems
- Ensure required parts and materials are ordered and available
- Identify opportunities and recommend improvements to enhance maintenance operations and efficiency
- Follow standard operating procedures and maintain accurate documentation as required
- Attend required training and development programs
- Support additional projects and initiatives as assigned by Plant Management
