Responsibilities:
- Billing Legal Aid
- Booking/Scheduling CPT's, JPT's and Trial dates
- Preparing Trial Briefs
- Schedule appointments and meetings, ensuring calendars are well organized and conflicts are minimized
- Assist in the preparation of legal documents, ensuring accuracy
- Prepare client invoices and accounts, maintaining thorough and organized billing within due dates
- Communicating with clients
- Perform other duties as required
- Communicating with Crown Attorneys, Court clerks, Legal Aid workers, and other stakeholders
Experience:
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks and documentation
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism
- Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Previous experience working as a law clerk or in a similar legal support role is preferred
- Excellent clerical skills, including typing, filing and record keeping
Qualifications:
- Law Clerk or Paralegal certification would be an asset
- Previous legal experience is highly valued and is an asset
