Position Summary
Reporting to and working with the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of PBMR properties. In collaboration with the broader property management team, the Maintenance Tech will ensure tenant service requests are completed efficiently, common areas are maintained to a high standard, and building systems are operating effectively.
The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently but also in a team setting.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform general building maintenance and repairs across the portfolio.
· Perform scheduled preventative maintenance inspections and tasks on building systems, equipment and property infrastructure, and report deficiencies requiring repair or replacement.
· Complete basic repairs such as painting, patching, carpentry, drywall, locks, flooring, etc.
· Perform basic plumbing and electrical work.
· Maintain tools, supplies, maintenance areas, tool storage area, and workspaces to ensure clean and organized.
· General interior and exterior cleaning duties.
· Assist with winter property maintenance, including snow removal, shoveling, salting/de-icing, operation of snow-removal equipment and monitoring of site conditions.
· Follow all applicable occupational health and safety requirements, company policies and safe work procedures.
· Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with tenants and represent PBM Realty Holdings professionally while working on tenant premises.
· Perform other facility and building maintenance duties as assigned
Education & Qualifications
· High School diploma or equivalent a must
· Formal technical training or apprenticeship is a significant advantage
· SMT (Systems Maintenance Technician) designation or equivalent would be an asset
Experience & Skills
· 5+ years of experience in the construction or property maintenance industry
· Strong general knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting and drywall repair
· Experience with preventative maintenance programs is an asset
· Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues and identify practical solutions
· Strong organization and time-management skills
· Excellent customer service and communication skills
· Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented
· Demonstrated professionalism and ability to maintain composure under pressure
· Excellent attendance record
· Must hold a valid G drivers license with clean abstract and be in good standing.
· Access to a reliable vehicle to attend other sites if necessary
· Must be physically capable of performing daily labour duties
· Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other maintenance equipment
· Experience and knowledge on the safe and effective use of forklift, skid steer, snow blowers, plow truck
· Must be capable of lifting 50lbs

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
