We are currently seeking a professional, motivated, and results-driven Outside Sales Representative to join our growing team.
Position Overview
The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, developing client relationships, and promoting the venue's event and hospitality services throughout the Greater Toronto Area. This role requires regular travel, face-to-face client meetings, networking, and business development activities to drive venue bookings and revenue growth.
The ideal candidate is customer-focused, self-motivated, and experienced in outside sales, hospitality, event services, or business development.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development :
Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities and event bookings
Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, wedding planners, event organizers, and community partners
Conduct off-site client meetings, networking events, venue tours, and sales presentations
Generate leads through cold calling, referrals, networking, and business development initiatives
Prepare proposals, quotations, and contracts
Follow up on inquiries and maintain a high level of customer service
Coordinate with internal departments to ensure smooth event execution
Achieve assigned sales and revenue targets
Maintain accurate client and sales records
Qualifications:
Previous experience in sales, hospitality, event venues, or customer service preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Professional and client-focused approach
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/booking systems
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when required
Market & Industry Awareness :
Stay informed about hospitality, event, wedding, and conference industry trends
Monitor competitor venues, pricing strategies, and market activities
Identify emerging business opportunities and market segments
Provide feedback to management regarding client preferences and industry developments
Maintain awareness of customer expectations and event trends to support venue growth
Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with event, operations, and administrative teams to ensure seamless client service and event execution
Maintain accurate sales records, booking details, and customer information
Prepare regular sales activity, pipeline, and performance reports
Follow up on leads, inquiries, and client communications in a timely and professional manner
Compliance & Professional Conduct
Conduct all sales activities in accordance with company policies and professional standards
Maintain positive and professional relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams
Represent Mississauga Convention Centre in a professional, courteous, and ethical manner
Qualifications:
Previous experience in outside sales, hospitality, event venues, business development, or customer service preferred
Proven ability to generate leads and close sales opportunities
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
Professional and client-focused approach
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/booking systems
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when required
Working Conditions:
Field-based role with regular travel throughout the GTA
Flexible hours to meet customer and business needs
Combination of office work, customer site visits, networking events, and remote work
