Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck & Trailer Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining trucks and trailers to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on trucks and trailers.
- Conduct MVI/CVI inspections in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, brake, suspension, steering, axle, and tire-related issues.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine effective repair solutions.
- Perform welding and fabrication work as required.
- Complete preventive maintenance services, including lubrication, adjustments, and component inspections.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
- Order and manage parts, materials, and supplies required for repairs and maintenance activities.
- Ensure all equipment complies with applicable transportation and safety regulations.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform roadside repairs when necessary.
- Communicate repair recommendations, timelines, and equipment status with supervisors and customers.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Truck & Trailer Technician, Heavy-Duty Mechanic, or in a related mechanical repair role.
- Strong understanding of truck and trailer systems, including brakes, suspension, steering, electrical, hydraulic, and drivetrain components.
- Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
- Experience using diagnostic software, hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Knowledge of commercial vehicle inspection standards and transportation safety regulations.
- Valid driver's license required; Class 1 or equivalent commercial driver's license is considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy components and working in various weather conditions.

Pay: $24.59-$30.59 per hour
