Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Junior/Apprentice Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with experienced technicians to test, inspect, and maintain fire alarm systems. As a vital member of our team, you will learn the ropes of troubleshooting and repairing systems, ensuring they meet industry standards and regulations. Starting salary for this position ranges from $23.00 - $25.00 an hour.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in performing service activities on existing fire alarm systems of all manufacturers
- Reliably and efficiently assist in projects and work well in a true team environment
- Detailed report writing covering inspection report, associated deficiency solutions, material and labour invoicing, as well as communication within the team
- Responsible for meeting customer expectations while learning to perform quality inspections
- Learn specific solutions and recommendations to customers on the most efficient and cost-effective method to return equipment to working order
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
- Timely completion of a Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) Registration or equivalent provincial certification
- Gain and retain the knowledge of provincial building & fire codes for inspection purposes
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in documentation and routine details
- Ability to present information through the spoken or written form, interpret complex information
- Ability to lift equipment and tools
- Physically fit and have the ability to be on your feet for 7 hours a day.
- Possess a valid motor vehicle license and possess a current clean driver abstract
