Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation. This position requires strong leadership abilities, a commitment to hospitality, and a deep understanding of food industry standards. The Sous Chef will assist in managing kitchen staff, maintaining inventory, and upholding health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and development, ensuring creativity and quality in all dishes.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
- Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring that all meals meet quality standards and are prepared in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations and owner's standards.
- Help train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, equipment usage, and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive working environment that fosters teamwork and collaboration.
- Manage inventory levels, placing orders for supplies as needed while minimizing waste.
- Assist with bartending duties when required, ensuring excellent service for guests.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the food industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate kitchen staff effectively.
- Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary arts.
- Familiarity with hospitality standards and customer service excellence.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
