DELIVERY DRIVER TEAM MEMBER JOB OVERVIEW
As a Delivery Driver at Harbour City Kitchens, you are much more than a driver—you are the face of our company. Spending most of your time on the road and interacting with customers, suppliers, and installation teams, you play a vital role in delivering an exceptional customer experience and representing our brand.
Operating one of our Isuzu cab-over delivery trucks, you will safely transport cabinets and related products while ensuring deliveries are completed accurately, on time, and with the highest level of professionalism. You will communicate effectively with customers and internal teams, maintain our vehicles and equipment, and help ensure every delivery reflects the quality and service Harbour City Kitchens is known for.
Key Responsiblities
- Safely operate an Isuzu cab-over delivery truck to pick up, transport, and deliver cabinets and related products to customers, suppliers, and job sites.
- Ensure deliveries are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Follow all safe driving practices and Company safety procedures while operating vehicles and loading or unloading materials.
- Coordinate with the Shipping Manager to prioritize and complete daily delivery schedules.
- Communicate proactively with the Shipping Manager, supplier dispatchers, customers, installers, and other team members regarding delivery status and any issues that may arise.
- Oversee the safe loading and unloading of the truck and assist as required to ensure products are secured and protected from damage.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance, including keeping the interior and exterior of the truck clean and presentable.
- Obtain delivery confirmations and customer signatures when required.
- Contact customers and suppliers in advance of scheduled deliveries and pickups.
- Treat customers, their property, and job sites with professionalism, courtesy, and respect.
- Wear and maintain the Harbour City Kitchens uniform and present a professional appearance at all times.
- Uphold Harbour City Kitchens' commitment to outstanding customer service and represent the Company in a positive manner within the community.
QUALIFICATIONS
Needed
- Valid Class 5 British Columbia driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience or confidence operating larger commercial vehicles, including cab-over trucks, is considered an asset.
- Ability to safely lift and move cabinets and materials weighing up to 50 lbs. (23kg)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple delivery priorities.
- Commitment to workplace safety and safe driving practices.
Nice to have
- Previous delivery, transportation, or logistics experience.
- Experience operating an Isuzu cab-over truck or similar commercial delivery vehicle.
- Knowledge of the cabinetry, construction, or building supply industry.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
COMPENSATION
- $21.00 $24.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications
