About the Role: Zien Optometry is a fast-paced, highly professional clinic dedicated to precision and exceptional patient care. We are seeking an experienced Optometric Assistant and Front Office Coordinator who can hit the ground running. This role is designed for an optical professional who already understands clinic workflows, insurance billing, and lens technology, and is ready to step in and make an immediate impact.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage high-volume patient scheduling, phone communications, and front-desk operations.
- Verify insurance eligibility and accurately process claims and direct billing.
- Educate patients on premium lens options (including progressive and aspheric designs) and contact lens care.
- Perform professional frame adjustments, repairs, and troubleshoot eyewear issues.
- Maintain organized patient records and collaborate efficiently with our optometrists.
Required Qualifications (Must-Have):
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of direct experience in an optical or optometry clinic setting.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of optical terminology, progressive lenses, and clinic workflows.
- Systems: Proficiency with optometry booking software and managing insurance claims.
- Communication: Fluent in English (verbal and written) with a polished, empathetic approach to patient care.
- Availability: Able to work 30–40 hours/week, including occasional weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as an Optometric Assistant (OA) or Optical Dispenser.
- Familiarity with premium lens technologies (e.g., Nikon, Zeiss, Hoya).
