The Role
As a Maintenance Technician, your primary responsibility is preparing vacant apartments for new residents. Rather than complete renovations, you'll focus on the repairs and cosmetic improvements needed to quickly return units to a clean, safe, and rentable condition.
You'll be assigned a portfolio of units and work independently to complete repairs while maintaining a high standard of workmanship and turnaround time.
What You'll Do
- Prepare vacant apartments for new tenants
- Patch and repair drywall
- Paint walls, ceilings, trim and doors
- Install and repair flooring, including vinyl plank flooring
- Repair or replace baseboards, doors, hardware and cabinetry
- Complete basic plumbing repairs such as replacing faucets, toilets and fixtures
- Complete basic electrical work such as replacing light fixtures, switches and outlets
- Install shelving, blinds and other fixtures
- Identify and report larger maintenance issues requiring specialized trades
- Take photos and provide progress updates throughout the day
- Travel between assigned properties as required
Requirements
- Previous experience in maintenance or renovations
- Experience with drywall repair and painting
- Comfortable performing basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry work
- Ability to safely use common hand and power tools
- Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable using a smartphone to communicate and document completed work
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
