Position Summary
The Resident Engagement Coordinator plays a lead role in bringing resident life and experience to life across our Canadian Student Living off campus housing buildings in Waterloo. This role is on the ground with residents day to day, building genuine relationships, creating engagement opportunities, and helping shape a vibrant, welcoming living experience across multiple properties. The schedule combines set weekly hours with event driven flexibility, including evenings and weekends as programming requires.
Resident Engagement & Experience
- Support the execution of resident engagement initiatives across assigned buildings
- Maintain a visible, approachable presence during on-site hours and events
- Build positive relationships with residents and contribute to a welcoming community environment
- Relay resident feedback, concerns, and trends to the Community, Experience & Events Manager
Event Coordination & Support
- Assist in planning and executing resident events and social programming
- Coordinate event logistics including scheduling, vendor communication, and setup/teardown
- Support promotion of events to increase participation and engagement
- Track attendance and assist in gathering post-event feedback
Communications & Administrative Support
- Respond to resident inquiries related to events and community programming
- Creates and provides social media content, curated based on events and engagement interactions
- Support management of event bookings in alignment with established policies and timelines
- Assist in maintaining calendars, tracking requests, and organizing event-related communications
On-Site & Team Support
- Provide on-site support during events and key engagement periods
- Collaborate with on-site staff across multiple properties to ensure smooth execution of resident-facing activities
- Escalate operational or resident concerns to the Community, Experience & Events Manager as needed
Education & Experience
- Post-secondary education in Hospitality, Event Management, Communications, Marketing, or a related field is an asset
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a resident experience, community engagement, hospitality, or events role, ideally within student housing, multi-family residential, or property management
- Experience working across multiple sites or locations is an asset
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, people facing environment with shifting priorities
Social Media & Content
- Experience creating content for Instagram, TikTok, or similar platforms, including photos, short form video, and stories
- Comfortable being on camera or coordinating resident participation in content
- Basic familiarity with content editing tools such as Canva, CapCut, or native app editing features
- An eye for what resonates with a student audience and an understanding of brand consistency across platforms
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move event materials and supplies, up to approximately 25 lbs, for event setup and teardown
- Ability to stand, walk, and be on your feet for extended periods during events
Requirements
- Must have access to reliable transportation, as this role supports multiple properties across the Waterloo region and travel between sites is required
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed for events and peak engagement periods
