Description du poste
The Automotive Apprentice Technician is responsible for the inspection, repair and maintenance, and diagnostic tests of the UPS vehicle fleet. This position is responsible for a broad range of maintenance activities that are performed to keep UPS package handling facilities operating efficiently and effectively. The work can be fast-paced and requires routine interaction with other operations employees.

Workdays: Monday through Friday
Shift Hours: 5:00 PM to 1:30 AM
Wage:
Level 1 $23.93
Level 2 $27.28
Level 3 $29.10
Level 4 $32.28
Key Responsibilities:
Repair & inspect and maintain UPS diesel, propane and gasoline vehicles in a regular and timely manner
Operate/test company vehicles within the UPS facilities & on public roads
Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (32kg) unassisted. Typical package weight ranges from 25 to 35 lbs.
Able/willing to work evening and/or night shifts
Able to work in a fast-paced work environment
Clean Driver’s Abstract confirming:
No violations for the current year (last 12 months) and no more than 2 violations for the previous 3-year period (last 36 months)
No accidents and maximum 5 demerit points for the previous 3-year period (last 36 months)
Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills
Must pass a pre-employment road test
Compensation And Benefits:
Varies according to Apprenticeship level: ($23.93 per hour to $32.28)
Unionized role with a defined progression with a top rate of $32.28
Paid training
Weekly Pay via Direct Deposit- Every Friday
Personal paid days off (Eligibility Requirements)
2 weeks of paid vacation after 1 year of service (3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 20 years, and 6 weeks after 25 years)

Expenses/Working Conditions:
Monthly union dues (approximately $52/month)
A union initiation fee of $50 (will be deducted after completing 90 working days with UPS)
UPS Automotive Apprentices work mainly indoors but will occasionally work outdoors on the fleet equipment
All UPS Automotive Apprentices will be required to wear the provided uniform during work hours and are required to adhere to the UPS Appearance Guidelines
