Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, proficiency with CNC machinery, and experience in precision machining. This role involves operating CNC lathes and milling machines, interpreting blueprints, and ensuring high-quality production standards. Candidates with knowledge of Fanuc controls, CAD software such as SolidWorks, and blueprint reading will excel in this position. The CNC Operator plays a vital role in maintaining efficient manufacturing processes while adhering to safety and quality protocols.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines including CNC lathe and CNC milling machines to produce precision parts
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to determine machining specifications
- Program CNC machines using CNC programming languages, with a focus on Fanuc controls
- Use measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Select appropriate cutting tools and adjust machine parameters for optimal performance
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards
- Collaborate with team members on assembly processes when necessary
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklift as required for material handling and setup
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery, specifically CNC lathe and CNC milling machines
- Mechanical knowledge of machining processes and equipment maintenance
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls and CNC programming techniques
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks for part design review
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and apply measurements using calipers and other precision tools
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances
- Experience with manufacturing best practices including lean manufacturing principles
- Knowledge of welding, assembly, hand tools, power tools, forklift operation, and basic machining skills is preferred
