Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director / Montessori Preschool Lead to oversee daily operations and provide high-quality early childhood education. This role involves leading classroom activities, supporting staff, and ensuring a nurturing environment for young children. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with a passion for child development and inclusive education. Bilingual abilities in English and French/Spanish are highly valued to support diverse student populations. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage classroom activities in accordance with Montessori principles, ensuring a stimulating and inclusive learning environment
- Support and supervise teaching staff, providing mentorship and guidance to promote professional development
- Develop and implement curriculum plans tailored to individual needs, including children with disabilities or special needs
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and community partners regarding student progress and program updates
- Maintain accurate documentation of student development, attendance, and classroom activities using computer systems
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, health protocols, and licensing requirements
- Assist in administrative tasks such as scheduling, inventory management, and record keeping
- Foster a positive, respectful atmosphere that encourages children's independence, curiosity, and social-emotional growth
- Participate in ongoing training related to early childhood education, special education strategies, and bilingual instruction
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings; classroom experience preferred
- Background in early childhood education or Montessori teaching methods; certifications are a plus
- Knowledge of special education practices and working with children with disabilities or diverse learning needs
- Strong communication skills—written and verbal—capable of engaging effectively with children, parents, and staff
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork
- Proficiency in computer operation including basic software applications for documentation and communication purposes
- Ability to adapt to changing needs within the classroom or program environment
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, respectful atmosphere that supports all learners' development
Pay: $49,911.87-$62,891.70 per year
