Job Posting: Day Shift Pastry Production
Location: Boulangerie La Vendéenne Incorporee
500 Highway 325, Blockhouse, NS
Shift: 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM 40-48 hours weekly depending on demand
Start Date: As soon as possible
Boulangerie La Vendéenne Incorporee is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our day shift pastry production team. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced bakery environment where you will play a key role in preparing our signature pastries and supporting the night baking team.
Key Duties:
- Mixing ingredients and preparing dough
- Making pastries such as tarts, almond croissants, quiche, and petite déjeuner
- Preparing items for night bakers
- Loading the proofer and organizing supplies
- Creating weekly supply lists
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace
- cleaning and organizing work space
- Preparing vegetables for pizza and pickle production
- creating new meals to go ideas
- general knowledge of food flavours and profiles aimed towards local inspirations home cooked diners such as , turkey dinners, roast beef, pot pies, soups and stews.
- Ability to voice ideas and collaborate with team members and management.
- Experience with pie, cheesecake and layered cakes an asset.
Work Environment:
- Busy and fast-paced bakery setting
- Temperatures may vary from cold to hot depending on the area and task
Requirements:
- Ability to work efficiently and follow directions
- Neat, tidy clothing and hair tied up at all times
- Non-slip shoes are required
- No jewelry (including wedding/engagement rings), piercings, artificial nails, or long/painted nails are not allowed
- Reliability and attention to detail
- must be in Nova Scotia and be authorized to work in Canada
- minimum CLB 5
