Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced, fully equipped, and insured Stone and Quartz Countertop Installer for an upcoming multi-suite project in the Calgary, AB area. All fabricated quartz and stone materials are already delivered and staged on-site. The contractor will be responsible for moving the slabs from the on-site staging area into individual suites, dry-fitting, seaming, and completing the final installation.
Key Scope of Work
- On-Site Material Handling: Safely transport pre-fabricated stone slabs from the central on-site staging area into individual residential suites as needed.
- Dry-Fitting & Adjustments: Lay out the prefabricated stone pieces inside the suites, dry-fit for flush joints, and perform minor on-site trimming or polishing if required.
- Seaming & Leveling: Mix color-matched epoxy, set and secure seamless joints, and level surfaces using appropriate shims and tools.
- Fixtures & Finishing: Secure undermount sinks and apply professional-grade caulking/sealants along walls and backsplashes.
- Quality Control: Conduct a final inspection of each suite to ensure flawless execution and seamless finishes.
- Jobsite Cleanup: Maintain a safe work zone within each suite and completely clear all dust, debris, and material scraps upon completion.
Contract Requirements & Qualifications
- Business Status: Registered independent business (Sole Proprietor or Incorporated) with a valid Business Number.
- Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of documented experience in multi-unit or residential quartz and stone installation.
- Tools & Equipment: Must provide all personal professional installation tools (e.g., grinders, wet polishers, diamond blades, seam setters, vacuum cups, and appropriate material dollies/carts for indoor transport).
- Insurance & WCB: Proof of active Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance (minimum $2M) and a valid WCB Alberta clearance letter.
- Physical Demands: Heavy lifting required (50+ lbs); must have the physical capability and necessary crew support to safely maneuver heavy slabs through building corridors and doorways.
Remuneration & Terms
- Pay Structure: Paid per unit completed or via a structured flat rate for the overall project scope.
- Payment Terms: Net 15 or Net 30 upon invoice submission and verified sign-off of completed suites.
- Contract Duration: Project-based, with potential for future project contracts.
Pay: From $40.00 per hour
