Metro Machine Works is looking for a 4th year Apprentice or a Journeyman Machinist.

Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using micrometers and calipers
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines
- Program, set up and operate mills and lathes (Strong manual skills and CNC) to produce precision parts and instruments
- (Threading/Boring) Bearing diameters and all calculations
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Troubleshoot issues with machines and make necessary adjustments or repairs
Requirements:
- CNC experience
- Ability to consistently maintain tolerances of .005
- Ability to use measuring equipment.
- Knowledge of and ability to select appropriate tools, tool holders, cutters, inserts.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Speak English / Good communication skills
