Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar Panel Installer to join our renewable energy team. This role involves installing solar energy systems on residential, commercial, and industrial sites, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality in every project. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, mechanical knowledge, and experience operating various heavy equipment and power tools. Responsibilities
- Install solar panels and mounting systems according to project specifications and safety standards
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and rigging gear to prepare sites for installation
- Use hand tools and power tools for assembly, wiring, and securing solar components
- Perform electrical work involving low voltage systems, ensuring proper connections and safety compliance
- Conduct site assessments to determine optimal placement and structural integrity for solar arrays
- Assist with site preparation including trenching, excavation, and foundation work
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining safety protocols
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment used during installation processes
Requirements
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in heavy equipment operation such as excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and welding skills preferred
- Electrical experience or background in low voltage wiring is highly desirable
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Experience with rigging, lifting techniques, and the operation of heavy machinery including low voltage systems
- Prior experience operating heavy equipment such as bulldozers or cranes is a plus
- Knowledge of safety standards related to construction and electrical work
- Ability to work at heights using bucket trucks or scaffolding safely
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in technical tasks
- Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions
- Relevant certifications or licenses for heavy equipment operation are advantageous
