Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth flow of goods, accurate inventory management, and timely order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse operations, shipping & receiving processes, and familiarity with warehouse management systems. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supporting e-commerce and distribution activities.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and inspect for damages
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling products accurately
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other warehouse equipment safely to load and unload goods
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements using Warehouse Management System (WMS), MRP, or AS400 systems
- Assist with order fulfillment processes including order picking and packing for distribution
- Ensure proper packaging of items to prevent damage during transit
- Load and unload trucks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to optimize warehouse distribution operations
Requirements
- Previous experience in warehouse management, shipping & receiving, or related roles preferred
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), MRP, or AS400 is a plus
- Experience operating forklifts and reach trucks required; certification preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to perform basic math for inventory counts and order calculations
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order picking and packing
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices
- Basic understanding of e-commerce fulfillment processes is advantageous
- Prior experience with order fulfillment, packaging, and load & unload operations is desirable
