Insightrix is a Saskatchewan-based market research and insights firm that helps organizations understand people, make better decisions, and communicate more effectively. We work across sectors including telecommunications, utilities, financial services, education, government, healthcare, community organizations, and other areas where strong insight matters.
We are looking for a strong communicator, organized thinker, and client-focused team member to join us as a Proposal & Opportunity Specialist.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants to play an active role in how Insightrix pursues opportunities, develops proposals, supports client growth, and communicates the value of our work. The role is well suited to someone who enjoys writing, research, coordination, strategy, client needs, and turning ideas into clear, compelling business opportunities.
You will work closely with the Director, Proposal Strategy and the CEO to support proposals, RFP submissions, renewals, tender monitoring, business development materials, and proposal content systems. You will help keep opportunities moving, gather and shape input from internal teams, support strong written submissions, and contribute to polished, client-centred materials that reflect the quality of Insightrix’s work.
This role may be especially attractive to someone who already understands research, client service, project delivery, or Insightrix’s work and is interested in expanding into proposal development, business development, strategic communication, and growth-focused activities.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will support the development of proposals, renewals, RFP responses, and other business development materials. This may include drafting and editing content, formatting documents, gathering credentials, preparing team bios, compiling project examples, updating timelines, and helping ensure submissions are accurate, complete, persuasive, and professional.
You will help move proposals from early opportunity review through to final submission by tracking deadlines, submission requirements, internal inputs, follow-up items, and opportunities in progress. You will also help monitor tendering websites and other opportunity sources for relevant RFPs, standing offers, renewals, and business development opportunities.
You will support business development activities connected to existing clients, new opportunities, RFPs, renewals, and submitted proposals. This may include preparing background notes on clients or prospects, organizing information for business development meetings, helping track proposal outcomes, and contributing to materials that position Insightrix’s services clearly and professionally.
You will also conduct background research to help us better understand prospective clients, sectors, competitors, project context, and emerging issues. You will help translate that information into proposal content and client-focused messaging that speaks to the client’s needs, the evaluator’s perspective, and what makes Insightrix different.
This is not simply a document-production role. It requires judgment, curiosity, and the ability to understand what the client is really asking for and how Insightrix can respond in a way that is credible, differentiated, and practical.
You will also help maintain and improve proposal templates, standard company language, project examples, team biographies, methodology descriptions, case studies, credentials, and other reusable proposal content. This helps Insightrix respond efficiently while ensuring each submission feels thoughtful, customized, current, and aligned with the client’s needs.
You will work with researchers, field management staff, analysts, marketing, and accounting to gather information needed for proposals and business development materials. You do not need to be a senior research methodology expert, but you should be interested in learning how research projects are designed, priced, delivered, and communicated.
We are also interested in people who are open to using technology thoughtfully and responsibly. In this role, you may use approved AI tools to support drafting, summarizing, organizing, editing, content retrieval, and workflow efficiency, always with human review, judgment, and confidentiality.
What We’re Looking For
You may be a strong fit for this role if you are:
- A clear, confident, and thoughtful writer
- Highly organized and able to manage competing deadlines
- Detail-focused while still understanding the broader business goal
- Curious about clients, research, business development, strategy, and communication
- Comfortable coordinating information from multiple people and teams
- Able to move work forward without waiting for every detail to be perfect
- Interested in how proposals, RFPs, client relationships, and revenue growth connect
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new systems
- Open to using AI tools responsibly to improve efficiency and quality
- Professional, practical, and client-centred in your communication
- Able to work with confidential information and exercise sound judgment
- Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree, diploma, or relevant experience in communications, marketing, journalism, business, English, public relations, social sciences, market research, or a related field
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and organizational skills
- Experience preparing written business documents, reports, proposals, presentations, client materials, or marketing content
- Comfort working with deadlines, detailed instructions, and multiple contributors
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Word and PowerPoint
- Interest in market research, business development, client service, professional services, and growth strategy
- Experience with CRM systems, project management tools, tendering platforms, proposal systems, or AI tools would be considered an asset
- Experience in research, consulting, communications, marketing, professional services, or a client-service environment would be considered an asset
Direct experience with formal RFPs or tendering is helpful, but not required. We are also interested in candidates who bring strong writing, judgment, curiosity, and the ability to learn quickly.
What You’ll Gain
This role offers the opportunity to build valuable experience in proposal development, business development, strategic communications, market research, and professional services growth.
You will learn how organizations make buying decisions, how proposals are developed, how research solutions are positioned, and how strong writing and coordination can contribute directly to company growth.
For someone already working at Insightrix, this could be an opportunity to broaden your impact, develop new skills, and contribute to how the company grows.
Why Join Insightrix?
At Insightrix, we combine research rigour with creativity, technology, and practical business thinking. We are a collaborative team that values curiosity, quality, clear communication, continuous improvement, and client-focused problem solving.
This is a role for someone who wants to do more than simply produce documents. You will be part of the team helping shape how Insightrix presents its ideas, wins work, supports clients, and grows.
