Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Kitchen Helper/Cook to join our culinary team. This role is essential in supporting food service operations, ensuring efficient meal preparation, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, experience in food handling, and a strong commitment to providing excellent service in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly according to established recipes and standards
- Support cooking activities, including basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, mixing, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment
- Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed to uphold safety and hygiene standards
- Serve food to customers or staff in a timely and courteous manner
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, notifying management when stock needs replenishing
- Follow all food safety regulations and sanitation procedures to prevent contamination and ensure quality control
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors
- Basic understanding of serving protocols and meal presentation
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing priorities within the kitchen environment
- Food industry or restaurant experience is a plus but not mandatory
