Decontamination Technician
(Mechanical / Industrial Trades Background)
Location: Bruce County (On‑Site)
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Compensation: $30–$40 per hour (based on experience), plus benefits and RRSP program
Role Summary
We are seeking a practical, mechanically inclined Decontamination Technician to carry out hands-on decontamination activities in a nuclear facility setting. This position is well suited to individuals with experience in millwrighting, boilermaking, fabrication, or maintenance, work who are confident working with tools and equipment daily.
The role focuses on mechanical and tool-driven decontamination, requiring attention to safety, precision, and collaboration with Radiation Protection personnel while working in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate power tools such as grinders, drills, and similar equipment to remove contamination
- Perform mechanical decontamination on components, piping, and industrial equipment
- Coordinate closely with Radiation Protection teams to ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with site procedures
- Assist with rigging, lifting, and positioning of components and materials
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical tools
- Comfortable working in physically demanding, industrial environments
- Prior exposure to nuclear or radiological environments preferred
- Rigging and slinging experience considered an asset
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
