Invites applications for Maintenance Repair
40 hours/week Temporary Position
(Contract: June - September 2026)
The ideal candidate will be confident, professional, optimistic and energetic, must be customer service focused and be committed to our organization and values. The Maintenance Repairperson must exercise tact and diplomacy when dealing with CHC customers and represent CHC in a positive manner.
As a member of the Zone team and under the supervision of the Zone Manager and the Senior Manager/Maintenance and Restoration, the Maintenance Repairperson is responsible for carrying out general repairs throughout assigned neighborhoods. A significant portion of the time in this position will involve carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and heating repairs, investigation of repairs as needed, and other related duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).

Working knowledge and demonstrated ability to perform a broad range of maintenance repairs, as normally acquired through several years’ directly related work experience or equivalent.

Proficiency in the use of tools and equipment, safety procedures, and supplies related to the performance of these duties. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to deal tactfully and resourcefully with tenants, and to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Possession of a valid driver’s license is required, and the use of an automobile may be required.

All Maintenance Repairpersons must maintain Fall Arrest Certification, WHMIS and any other certification training or workshop as required by Windsor Essex Community Housing Corporation.
This is a Bargaining Unit position; you will be required to work in a smoke-free environment.
