Lead Hand
The Role:
The Lead Hand is responsible for ensuring the smooth operations of our maintenance team at our shop at 318. Promoting a safe and efficient work environment, the Lead Hand position will be a liaison for the team and our client. The Lead Hand position reports directly to the Supervisor and/or other designated leaders.
Accountabilities:

Assist with daily operational activities for assigned work areas.

Ensuring work activities are performed in a safe, productive, and efficient manner.

Ensure all required paperwork including but not limited to; time sheets, FLRA’s, work orders, maintenance requests are submitted in a timely manner.

Represent the company as a liaison to aid customer, employee, or contractor concerns in a professional manner.

Ensure all site rules are communicated to employees and adhered to at all times.

Support field operations in all aspects.

Provide leadership in safety and quality performance and ensure due diligence in client and regulatory compliance.

Reporting to Department Managers divisional concerns, issues, and performance of the team

Contribute to the training and mentorship program for all new hires.

Perform other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and as required by the needs of the business.

Requirements and Competencies:
-
Class Three (3) Drivers Licence with Air Brake Endorsement is an asset.
-
Minimum Class Five (5) Drivers Licence required.
-
Clean 5-year Drivers Abstract.

Red Seal Journeyperson HET
-
Ability to remain safety-focused and all follow safe work practices.
-
Previous experience operating small and mobile equipment is preferred.

Able to work in all weather and working site conditions.
-
Ability to access all client sites as required.
-
Common Safety Orientation (CSO) certification or equivalent.
-
Physically able to complete the duties of the position.
-
Successfully complete all pre-employment drug, alcohol, and physical abilities testing.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in a leadership role

Strong knowledge of equipment repair and maintenance procedures

Relevant certifications or technical qualifications (preferred)
Schedule:
-
The schedule position is a 7 days on, 7 off rotation followed by 7 nights on and 7 days off, 12 hours per day.
