We are seeking a dedicated, reliable Residential Building Manager for a newly built, high‑quality rental residential building in Dartmouth. This is a full-time, permanent onsite position that includes a private residential unit as part of the compensation package.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the rental property
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and building upkeep
- Coordinate and supervise maintenance and repair work
- Respond promptly to resident inquiries, concerns, and service requests
- Monitor building systems and report any issues to property management
- Support resident move-ins, move-outs, and conduct unit inspections
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and resident interactions
- Enforce building rules and regulations to ensure a safe, respectful environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in residential or property management preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Basic knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures
- Professional, courteous, and customer-service oriented
- Must live onsite in the provided unit
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
Experience
- 5–10 years of building superintendent or related experience preferred
- Experience performing minor repairs and maintenance in a multi-unit residential building
- Familiarity with building systems such as electrical/HVAC, mechanical, fire prevention/detection, and security
- Experience coordinating contractors and service providers
Skills & Abilities
- Self-starter with a high level of professionalism
- Strong attention to detail and effective prioritization skills
- Excellent listener with the ability to respond diplomatically to resident issues
- Physically capable of performing cleaning and maintenance duties
- Skilled in minor repair work including painting; always follows safety standards
- Knowledge of relevant building codes is an asset
- Basic computer skills (email, simple reporting)
