Position Title: Early Childhood Educator
Location: 1388 5th Ave, Prince George, BC V2L 3L4
Term: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 35-40 hours per week
Shift: Monday - Friday, shifts rotating between 7:30am - 5:30 pm (including breaks and coverage)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary: $31 per hour (Includes $6 per hour for Licensed ECE as per the Provincial Government’s Wage Enhancement Initiative)
Reports To: Team Lead, Child Care
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team. Duties
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Provide attentive caregiving to meet the individual needs of each child, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and independence.
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to monitor progress and address any developmental or behavioral concerns.
- Support children with diverse needs, including working with individuals with disabilities to ensure inclusive participation.
- Maintain accurate records of children's activities, progress, and daily routines.
- Ensure the classroom is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies to facilitate effective learning experiences.
Skills
- Experience working with children in educational or caregiving settings.
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and development stages.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities, demonstrating patience and adaptability.
- Excellent teaching skills with the ability to engage young learners through creative activities.
- Compassionate caregiver with a nurturing approach to support children's emotional needs.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with parents, colleagues, and children.
- Organizational skills to manage classroom activities and maintain detailed documentation.
