Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced City Flatbed Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating flatbed trucks within Southern Ontario, delivering freight efficiently, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, heavy equipment operation, and vehicle maintenance to ensure smooth daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed trucks to deliver freight within city routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Secure loads properly using appropriate tie-downs and safety equipment
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance
- Assist with loading and unloading freight, utilizing forklift or other heavy equipment as needed
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch and clients
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to keep vehicles in optimal condition
- Follow company policies regarding safety procedures, hours of service, and vehicle maintenance
Experience
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience operating flatbed trucks in an urban environment preferred
- Proficiency in forklift operation and heavy equipment handling is a plus
- Knowledge of freight handling, securing loads, and transportation safety regulations
- Basic automotive repair skills are desirable but not mandatory
- Prior experience with commercial driving and heavy equipment operation will be advantageous for success in this role
Pay: $19.95-$26.00 per hour
