We are currently seeking a Full-Time Accounting Manager for our Barrie, Ontario operations, who will be responsible for managing the division’s financial activities; preparing or directing the preparation of reports summarizing and forecasting company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses and earnings, based on past, present, and expected operations. Reporting to the General Manager, and as a member of the management team, the Accounting Manager will also oversee the AP/AR and payroll department to ensure accurate and timely completion.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent knowledge in accounting and finance
- Five (5) Years management/supervisory experience in an accounting role
- Payroll experience (ADP Pay@Work/Workday preferred)
- CPA (or legacy CMA/CGA) designation
- Experience developing financial plans and managing resources including ability to analyze and interpret financial data
- Extensive understanding of procurement functions and accounting guidelines
- Cost control or financial/budget experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with an ability to influence people at all levels of the organization
- Analytical with a strong attention to detail
- Strong working knowledge of payroll processing and practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while exceeding established goals and objectives
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to set clear expectations, coach, develop and motivate staff
- Ability to hold the respect and confidence of all employees
- Ability to work independently and objectively
- Ability to effectively delegate tasks and provide appropriate supervision and follow up to department staff
- Ability to learn to utilize various types of electronic recording and information systems used by the company
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Flexible and able to adapt to a fast paced, changing environment
- Strong problem solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software
