As a Shop Labourer, you’ll ensure that the right components, materials and tools are ready for our coating application specialists to complete their job. From preparing components for coating to keeping the shop organized and safe, you’ll play a vital role in keeping projects on track and customers satisfied.
This is a physically demanding position in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment where overtime is expected.
What You'll Do
· Prepare components for coating projects, primarily using sand-blasting techniques.
· Assist operators by setting up equipment and moving components.
· Operate basic shop tools such as grinders, saws, and drills safely and efficiently.
· Maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment by sweeping, organizing tools, and disposing of scrap materials.
· Load and unload materials, by hand or using a forklift, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
· Follow all safety protocols, including wearing PPE and reporting hazards immediately.
· Pick up or deliver components from/to Client sites.
· Other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
· Previous experience in an industrial shop environment, and/or sand- or grit-blasting, and/or thermal spray is an asset (but we’re willing to train the right person).
· Ability to read and follow basic instructions, drawings, or measurements.
· Comfort using hand tools and power tools safely, and proven mechanical aptitude.
· Strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
· Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
· Valid Alberta drivers’ licence, with reliable transportation to our Nisku shop.
· Ability to work overtime.
