Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tool and Die Maker Apprentice to join our manufacturing team. This entry-level position offers hands-on training in precision tool and die making, with opportunities to develop skills in machining, CAD design, and manufacturing processes. The apprentice will work closely with experienced tool and die makers to learn industry-standard techniques and contribute to the production of high-quality tools and dies used in manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and fabrication of tools, dies, and molds using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CAD schematics.
- Operate CNC machinery including CNC lathes and CNC milling machines under supervision.
- Use hand tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments to ensure precision and quality of parts.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and math calculations to accurately produce components.
- Support assembly, welding, and finishing processes for tool and die production.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members on machining tasks, troubleshooting issues, and process improvements.
Requirements
- Basic mechanical knowledge with an interest in manufacturing and machining processes.
- Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs is preferred.
- Experience or knowledge of CNC programming, CNC lathe, CNC milling machines is a plus.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately.
- Strong math skills relevant to machining and fabrication tasks.
- Proficiency with hand tools, calipers, and basic assembly techniques.
- Willingness to learn welding techniques and advanced manufacturing methods.
- Good problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment following all safety protocols.
