Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Line Cook and/or Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food, and maintaining a safe and efficient kitchen environment. The Line Cook and/or Sous Chef will play a vital role in supporting the culinary team to meet restaurant standards and guest expectations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing, cooking, and plating a variety of menu items with precision and consistency.
- Supervise kitchen staff during shifts, ensuring all food safety and handling procedures are followed.
- Oversee food preparation activities, including meal assembly and presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in compliance with health regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage stock to minimize waste.
- Support the training and development of junior kitchen staff to uphold quality standards.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
- Ensure timely service delivery by coordinating with front-of-house staff.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant or food industry setting.
- Strong knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and kitchen sanitation standards.
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is highly preferred.
- Excellent serving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service hours.
- Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and culinary best practices.
- Strong leadership skills to supervise kitchen staff effectively.
