Job Summary
The University City Recreation Centre (UCRC) is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and highly organized Recreation Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our multi-use recreational facility located at 453 Sentinel Road.
The Recreation Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising recreational programs, facility operations, staff, and community engagement initiatives while ensuring a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for all residents and users of the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the Recreation Centre, including fitness, aquatic, gymnasium, and multi-purpose program areas.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate recreational programs and activities for residents of all ages.
- Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate recreation staff, instructors, and volunteers.
- Coordinate facility bookings, special events, and community programs.
- Monitor facility usage and recommend improvements to programs and services.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and operational standards.
- Respond to resident inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
- Coordinate with contractors, service providers, and community partners as required.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, attendance statistics, and program evaluations.
- Promote recreation programs through various communication channels and community outreach initiatives.
- Assist with strategic planning and future development of recreation services.
Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of experience managing recreational facilities, community programs, or similar operations.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience supervising staff and managing schedules.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and facility booking software.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
- Experience managing aquatic and fitness facilities is considered an asset.

Compensation
