Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to support and engage young individuals in a positive and nurturing environment. This role involves working closely with children and adolescents, including those with disabilities, to promote their development, well-being, and social skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to create a safe and inclusive space for youth to thrive.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging activities tailored to the interests and needs of youth, including those with disabilities
- Provide mentorship and support to help young individuals build confidence and social skills
- Assist in creating individualized plans for participants requiring special accommodations or support
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment conducive to learning and personal growth
- Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure holistic support for youth
- Monitor progress and provide feedback on participant development
- Maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, and progress reports
- Promote positive behavior management strategies and conflict resolution when necessary
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or adolescents in educational, recreational, or community settings is preferred
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable
- Background in teaching or related educational fields is advantageous
- Strong communication skills and the ability to connect effectively with youth from diverse backgrounds are essential
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and adaptability in working with young people are critical qualities for success in this role
Pay: $21.47-$25.35 per hour
