Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Water Treatment Operator-Town Foreman to oversee and manage water treatment operations within the community. This leadership role involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of water treatment systems, maintaining compliance with environmental regulations, and works under the CAO of the Village. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge,and experience with heavy equipment. This position offers an opportunity to work with the casual employee while maintaining the highest standards of water quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- The Employee will report directly to the CAO which is the sole supervisor for all municipal employees.
- Attend Monday weekly meeting with CAO to discuss optional priorities, changes and ensure alignment with municipal objectives. Attendance at this meeting is mandatory and forms part of the Town Foreman’s regular duties.
- Supervise daily water treatment plant operations, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot heavy equipment used in water treatment processes
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on treatment systems and related machinery
- Oversee the collection and analysis of water samples to ensure quality standards are met
- Implement operational procedures and emergency response protocols as needed
- Maintain detailed records of operations, maintenance activities, and regulatory compliance
- Lead training initiatives for staff on equipment operation, safety procedures, and best practices
- Manage inventory of supplies and parts necessary for ongoing operations
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in operating heavy equipment
- Prior experience in oil & gas or water treatment industries is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Previous supervisory or foreman experience preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems
- Knowledge of environmental regulations related to water treatment is advantageous
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and handle physically demanding tasks
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
- Obtaining Certificate for the Small Water and Small Wastewater Systems to operate as the Water Treatment Supervisor
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
