About the Role
We are seeking a Hybrid Assistant General Manager (AGM) to support both Café Crema and Freds Restaurant in Ambleside. This is a dynamic leadership position for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, loves hospitality, and understands that great culture and great profit go hand-in-hand.
You will work closely with the General Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, drive team engagement, enhance guest experience, and support hiring, onboarding, and training. This role requires strong leadership presence on the floor and a proactive operational mindset.
Leadership & Operations

Support the GM across both locations in daily operations, scheduling, and floor execution.

Lead by example with strong floor presence during peak service periods.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness, service execution, and operational readiness.

Manage daily checklists, opening/closing procedures, and shift execution.
Guest Experience

Champion guest service standards; ensure consistent, memorable hospitality.

Respond to guest feedback with professionalism and solution-focused approaches.

Build genuine relationships with returning community guests.
Team Development

Support hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and training for both venues.

Coach FOH staff through consistent feedback, development, and accountability.

Foster a positive culture built on respect, communication, and teamwork.
Financial & Profit Mindset

Support labour management, smart scheduling, and cost controls.

Understand COGS, labor targets, and how daily decisions impact the P&L.

Assist with performance tracking, inventory support, and operational improvements.

2+ years leadership experience in restaurants/cafés or hospitality.

Availability to work weekends, and evenings

Strong floor leadership: hands-on, present, and calm under pressure.

Experience coaching teams and supporting hiring/training.
